Description: Law enforcement agency for California. The CHP has patrol jurisdiction over all California highways and can also act as the state police. Aims to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security to the people of California by:Preventing loss of life, injuries, and property damage. Maximizing service to the public and support to allied agencies. Managing traffic and emergency incidents. Protecting public and state assets. Improving departmental efficiency.
