Description: Utility payment program that can offer income-eligible residents of Sacramento, Sutter, and Yuba Counties a one-time credit to their residential water and sewer bills. The program can provide up to a $15,000 credit towards an overdue water or wastewater bill only. If applicants are current, assistance can range from $200 - $371 depending on household size. Factors considered include funding availability and the cost of water within the county where the household resides.LIHWAP is no longer accepting applications for assistance. Requirements: Please provide the following information with the application: 1. Copies of all sources of income from everyone residing in the home for the last 6 weeks. 2. Copies of the current utility statement from SMUD, PG&E, Propane, oil, water, and wood bills. 3. Both Social Security card and a State-issued identification for all adults in the household. 4. If an applicant receives Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), HUD, or low-income Housing, they must provide a current statement showing the rent amount, utility allowance, and reimbursement payment.
