Description: Protects students who are unhoused/homeless. Supports the enrollment, attendance, and achievement of students who are experiencing homelessness to ensure they receive equal access to educational opportunities. Can help with:. Eligibility for rights and services. School enrollment and attendance issues. Coordination of school services. Dispute mediation and resolution. Emergency transportation assistance for school. Community information on housing, shelter, basic needs. Information for school supplies & other student resources
Hours: Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Eligibility: Homeless/unhoused students in the Sacramento City Unified School District. Students are defined as unhoused/homeless if they lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, such as:- Temporarily moved in with others due to loss of housing or financial problems (eviction, job loss, etc.).- In a motel/hotel, campground, or trailer due to a lack of alternative adequate accommodations.- In a shelter or a shelter transitional housing program.- A public/private place that is not designed for or normally used as a place for sleeping.- Cars, parks/public spaces, abandoned/condemned buildings, bus/train stations, or similar settings.- Homeless students also include unaccompanied youth, runaways, children abandoned inhospitals, and migratory children who live in the conditions described above.
