Description: Offers information about the CalGrows program to help caregivers grow their careers, develop skills, and provide quality care to older adults and people with disabilities. CalGrows offers free training courses and incentive payments to caregivers working in home and community settings, including unlicensed caregivers, certified home care aides (HCAs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and friends/family caregivers.
Eligibility: CalGrows is a program for unlicensed caregivers, certified home care aids (HCAs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) who:-Live and provide care in California-Work in a home- or community-based setting-Provide care to older adults and people with disabilities-Are a caregiver paid by a non-IHSS employer-Provide unpaid care to friends or familyMost IHSS Providers are not eligible for CalGrows with a few exceptions:-An IHSS Provider who has a second job paid by a non-IHSS employer, OR-Employees of an organization under contract with a county to provide IHSS servicesIHSS providers can only receive incentives from Career Pathways or CalGrows -- not both.Unpaid family and friend caregivers are eligible for courses and coaching, but not incentives.
