  • Description: Provides options for trained commercial agriculture and livestock operators to access restricted areas during or following a natural disaster. Access into closed areas may be permitted at the discretion of incident commanders and law enforcement personnel having jurisdiction over the scene.Eligible Activities To evacuate or care for livestock To provide feed, water, medical treatment, and other care to large-scale commercial livestock operations To perform irrigation of crops or turn on water systems To provide access to property or facilities used as part of an agricultural operation To transport/deliver necessary equipment needed to re-establish water supplies or irrigation systemsIneligible Activities To conduct firefighting operations, including fire suppression or fire mop-up For the removal property, other than livestockTo harvest cropsAg Pass holders are required to maintain a baseline level of training. The trainingrequirement can be met by proof of completion of either of the two training options below:. Sacramento County Specific Ag Pass Training (4 Hours); or. California State Fire Marshall Ag Pass Training (4 hours)combined with the FloodSpecific Section Training provided by Sacramento CountyTo renew the Ag Pass, a 1-hour refresher course will be required annually.

Employees and family members must provide authorization from the owner/operator, to apply for an Ag Pass.. The individual applicant must have a working knowledge of the agricultural property and essential infrastructure.. Documentation must be provided to the County Ag Commissioner, verifying that the agricultural operation is commercial.. Applicants must meet annual training requirements.. Applicants must sign and submit a release of liability form approved by the County.
  • Requirements: Acceptable documentation for proof of commercial agricultural operation: - An Operator Identification number or Restricted Materials Permit issued by the Agricultural Commissioner - A current executed agricultural land lease - An IRS Schedule F (Form 1040) attesting to the applicant's profit or loss from farming - USDA FSA document attesting that the applicant is a commercial livestock producer - Current registration of a livestock brand with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Bureau of Livestock Identification - CPC for direct marketing of agricultural products - CDFA Organic registration of agricultural operation
