  • Description: A family reunification program that allows certain individuals legally residing in the United States to bring their family members to the United States through the US Refugee Admissions Program. The program has multiple avenues for reunification for overseas refugees and their stateside family members. Currently, World Relief is primarily focusing on Lautenberg Applications, which is limited to individuals from Former Soviet Union countries and Iran.

  • Eligibility: US Tie (UST) is the individual residing in the US who files the application for their family members. The UST must:1. Be within 100 miles of the Watt Avenue office2. Be legally residing in the United States of America3. Be over 18 years old OR be married4. Hold one of the following eligibility statuses and proof of status through the related document:- Refugee (I-94)- Asylee (asylum letter)- LPR (LPR card, Green Card)- US Citizen (Passport or Certificate)- Parolee (I-94 showing UHP code or EAD w C11 Category)- TPS Temporary Protected Status (EAD w A12 or C19, I-94 showing TPR granted, EOIR)The Primary Applicant (PA) is the main applicant abroad. The PA must:1. Must be a citizen and permanent resident of a Former Soviet Union country2. Applicants are part of one of the following religious minorities: - Jewish (Tats and Karaims)- Evangelical Christians (Baptist, Pentecostal, Seventh Day Adventist, Jehovah's Witness)- Ukrainian Geek Catholics- Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox3. Must have one of the following qualifying relationships to the UST:- Spouse- Parent- Child- Sibling - Grandparent- GrandchildEvery applicant, in addition to the PA, must be a citizen of a Former Soviet Union country and a member of a religious minority.Individuals who are not directly related to the PA but are living in the same household may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Requirements: The UST must provide copies of the following: - Original birth certificate - Proof of current US legal statusThe PA must provide copies of the following: - Original birth certificates - Valid passport-identity pageThe PA may need to provide the following, if applicable: marriage certificate, divorce certificate or deceased spouse's death certificate, adoption paperwork.
