Parents choose a provider, and all or a portion of the services are paid for by Child Action, Inc.. Families can remain subsidized until they exceed state income eligibility or until their child ages out of the program.Child Action, Inc. maintains the "Childcare Eligibility List" (or CEL) for subsidized child care programs in Sacramento County. By signing up for the CEL, individuals allow multiple subsidized programs in Sacramento County to access their information when they have openings in their programs.

  • Eligibility: To be eligible, Families must:- Have a household income that is below 85% of the State Median Income (SMI), OR have categorical eligibility; active services with a means-tested government program such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, WIC, etc. Parents who have been discontinued from cash aid within the last 24 months may be eligible for immediate enrollment. - Have children under the age of 13. An extension of the age limitation may be approved for children with special needs. An approved IEP and a letter from a medical professional confirming the child needs to be supervised by an adult in a childcare setting are required to approve care past the age of 13.- Reside or use child care within Sacramento County- Have a Need for Care (the reason the parent is unavailable to care for the child). A Need for Care may include employment, seeking employment, attending school, having a Child Protective Services (CPS) protected status, medical incapacitation, and seeking permanent housing.Income-Based Eligibility Guidelines:Household size of 1-2: monthly income of $6,595; annual income of $79,140Household size of 3: monthly income of $7,472; annual income of $89,664Household size of 4: monthly income of $8,712; annual income of $104,544Household size of 5: monthly income of $10,106; annual income of $121,272Household size of 6: monthly income of $11,500; annual income of $138,000Household size of 7: monthly income of $11,761; annual income of $141,132Household size of 8: monthly income of $12,023; annual income of $144,276Household size of 9: monthly income of $12,284; annual income of $147,408Household size of 10: monthly income of $12,545; annual income of $150,540
