MENTAL HEALTH LEGAL SERVICES, LAW FOUNDATION OF SILICON VALLEY

Description: Provides free legal advice and representation to individuals in Santa Clara County with mental-health related disabilities. Helps individuals experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County as well as patients of the following facilities:
- Valley Homeless Health Program
- SCVMC Valley Specialty Center Clinics
- Valley Health Center Downtown Clinic
- Gender Health Center
For eligible individuals, legal services cover:
- Public benefits matters
- Reasonable accomodation to access benefits programs
- Investigation of allegations or abuse at mental health facilities
- Assistance with name and gender marker to align with gender identity
- Limited counsel and advice for debtor's rights issues/creditor harassments
