DISABILITY DISASTER ACCESS AND RESOURCE CENTER, SILICON VALLEY INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTER (SVILC)

Description:
Provides the Disability Disaster Access and Resource Center for Santa Clara County. Assists residents with Access and Functional Needs in the event of a Public Safety Power Shut Off, PSPS. Partners with PG&E to provide this program.

PSPS preparedness workshops are held on the first Friday of each month.

Services include:
- Creating a personal or family emergency plan
- Back-up battery loans
- Hotel vouchers
- Food vouchers
- Utility Medical Baseline Application Assistance
Battery program:
Provides backup battery for customers rely on electricity operated medical devices. Customers must reside in a Tier 2 or 3 High Fire Thread District or have experienced 2 or more PSPS events.

Eligibility: Must live or work in Santa Clara County Must be a person with a significant disability or impairment or older adults Subject to a PSPS event or other emergency Battery program: Must be a PG&E customer who relies on electricity to operate medical devices or to continue to live independently; Reside in a Tier 2 or 3 High Fire Threat District or have experienced 2 or more PSPS events.
