Description: Offers reimbursement to riders who provide their own volunteer drivers for mileage up to 300 miles per month at $0.40 per mile for qualified types of trips. The riders then pass on the reimbursement funds to their driver. Trips qualified for reimbursement include:
Medical appointments
Grocery stores
Pharmacy
Foodbank
Community Events
Religious/Spiritual Ceremonies
Note: Medical trips out of Lake County but not out of California qualify for mileage reimbursement.
Hours: Service hours are set between program participant and their drivers.
Eligibility: -Must be a Lake County resident
-Be 55 years or older, or disabled
-Meet low-income requirements
-Unable to drive
-Unable to utilize public transportation
-Have someone willing to drive for you
