Description: Provides safety and protection for children who are at risk of, or are being abused, neglected, or exploited. Responds to reports of suspected child abuse.Investigates, reports, and provides support to families and at-risk children. Provides temporary emergency shelter to the affected child. Offers free training to community mandated reporter on prevention and reporting of abuse and neglect.
Child abuse is defined by California law as any of the following:
Non-accidental physical injury of a child
Sexual abuse or exploitation of a child
Willful cruelty or unjustifiable punishment of a child
Neglect of a child, including failure to provide adequate food, clothing, shelter, medical care, or supervision
