- Description: Provides a free, 8 session class for family members, significant others, and friends of people living with mental illness. The course is taught by family members with lived experience. Participants gain practical knowledge, confidence in providing support, and connection with others. Topics include:
. Problem solving and communication skills
. Managing a mental health crisis
. Self-care strategies
. Navigating local supports and services
. Current information on mental health conditions, treatments, therapies, and medications
