• Description: Police officers are generally assigned to the Patrol or Investigations Divisions. Within the Divisions are many specialty units including K-9 Officer, Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, Officer in Charge, Special Investigations Unit (narcotics and gangs), School Resource Officer, Hostage Negotiation Team, and SWAT Team. These units provide our officers with opportunities for expanded training and expertise. Police officers may be assigned to one of these units as full-time assignments or as an adjunct to their primary assignment.
