Description: The Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) handles hazardous materials, generating or treating hazardous materials, or operating aboveground or underground storage tanks. CUPA assures that all hazardous wastes used by local industries and businesses are properly handled, stored and disposed. CUPA is responsible for the following 6 programs: *Hazardous Materials Release Response Plans & Inventory *Underground Storage Tanks *Hazardous Waste Generators Authority *Onsite Hazardous Waste Treatment *Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act *California Accidental Release Prevention
