NEIGHBORLY ASSISTANCE FOR SENIORS, CAREGIVERS: VOLUNTEERS ASSISTING THE ELDERLY
Did this help?
- Description: Matches screened volunteers with home-bound seniors in which the volunteer provides neighborly assistance. This includes running errands, helping with light household tasks, companionship, and non-emergency transportation to medical or other types of appointments. Generally, volunteers donate 2-4 hours once a week, to visit their senior friend.
*Volunteers don't provide personal hygiene care, physical lifting of clients, or medical monitoring. Volunteers donate their own gas and are not tasked to do heavy chores
Please note:
Volunteers Assisting the Elderly is available during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and disasters.
However new requests will be unable to be accommodated during a shutoff due to the inability to reply without power. All existing clients can reach out to their current buddy. - Website: http://www.vccaregivers.org
