UTILITY ASSISTANCE- HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HEAP), COMMUNITY ACTION OF VENTURA COUNTY (CAVC)

Description:
Assists eligible households pay one of their utility bill (electric, gas or propane) once a year. Helps households whose utility has already been disconnected, past due or are current on their bill. Amount of assistance is based on:
- Number of persons in the household
- Total gross household income
- Cost of energy within the county the households resides
- Subject to funding availability

Eligibility: Ventura County residents Must meet income guidelines, complete a HEAP Application with all required documentation
Requirements: -Valid Picture California Identification -Social Security Card -Current gas detailing terms -Current electric bill detailing terms and kilowatt usages (All Pages) --Rental or house payment receipt for the current month (Rent or Contract, Sec 8/Housing or Mortgage Statement) Income documentation for all adult (18+) household members during the previous 4 weeks (paycheck stubs must show gross amounts received). Social security benefits/ EDD / CalWorks / Child Support /Disability / self employeed. ect
