Description: Provides funds to assist individuals and families who are currently homeless, or facing homelessness from rental housing within 21 days. Eligible applicants may receive various types of assistance, including:
Homeless prevention rental payment
Rental deposit & short-term rental payments
Credit counseling
Utility deposits & utility payment
Moving and storage costs
Follow-up visits with a case manager
NOTE: All checks go directly to vendors, not clients.
Eligibility: Must:
-Be homeless or facing eviction within 21 days. If individual is currently homeless, must have potential rental unit in mind when going through assessment
-Meet income limits based on family size
-Have no other housing options or financial resources to find or keep housing
-Be a Ventura County resident and U.S. citizen, or qualified resident alien
-Have the financial ability to maintain housing after rental assistance is received
-Be in the county for at least 90 days
Requirements: -Certification of Homelessness document
-Proof of all income (such as pay stubs, Notice of Action for public benefits, Social Security notice)
-Proof of income/benefits and completed budget worksheet
-Document stating current address (such as a utility bill)
-Photo ID (for all adults in household)
-Social Security Card (for all household members)
