Offers surfing combined with group discussion sessions to increase self-esteem and self-efficacy in individuals suffering from mental and/or physical illness. Sessions are led by licensed therapists who guide pre and post surfing talking circles centered around a chosen theme for the day.
Hours: Offered periodically throughout the year, usually between March and October. Sessions start around 9am and are finished by 12:30pm or 1pm.
Eligibility: Open to all trauma-related populations including abused, at-risk ("at-promise") children in the foster care community, veterans from all branches of the military, healthcare providers, and first responders (police, fire, medics, dispatch).
