- Description: Recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to represent the best interests of children in foster care.Each volunteer works directly with one child or sibling group, spending 2-4 hours weekly on activities like outings, which build trust and provide stability.Volunteers attend court hearings every six months, submit reports, and make recommendations to judges to influence decisions about the child's future, such as placement or services.Volunteers commit to at least 18 months to provide consistent support, helping improve outcomes like shorter foster care stays and lower re-entry rates
