  • Description: Supports individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias across 55 counties in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Works to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through advancing research, enhancing care and support for those affected, and promoting brain health to reduce dementia risk.Services include:Support Services: Free 24/7 Helpline offering confidential support, crisis assistance, and information in over 200 languages; peer- or professionally-led support groups (in-person and virtual) for caregivers and those with early-stage dementia; and family care consultations to create care plans.Education and Resources: Offers community workshops, annual education conferences, and online resources like the Community Resource Finder. Educational materials are available in multiple languages, including Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.Research Support: Funds research and connects individuals to clinical trials through a free trial-matching service.Advocacy: Advocates for Alzheimer's-related public policies at local, state, and federal levels to improve care, support, and research funding.Caregiver Support: Respite grants, in-service training for care facility staff, and safety services addressing issues like wandering and driving.Community Engagement: Organizes events like the Walk to End Alzheimer's to raise funds and awareness, and promoting brain health initiatives.Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)During a PSPS event, services will operate normally.
