Description: Transitioning youth from ages 16-24, are given skills to adapt from high school into college and/or careers as an adult. Provides participants with a guide to the skills and experiences that can help make individuals ready for success in the workforce. Benefits to participants include increased confidence and preparedness when entering the workforce, certification to include on a resume, and a job application portfolio that is recognized by local employer groups, such as the Yolo County Workforce Innovation Board.
Hours: Office Hours:Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pmPresentations/meetings scheduled as requested.
Eligibility: Eligible to anyone with support from a participating community-based organization or school. Target audience is ages 16-24. Activities/Requirements to earn certificate include: Positive Attendance Record (if in school); community service or involvement in team, club or community activities; portfolio with Cover Letter, Resume, Generic/Actual Job Application, Letters of Recommendation (At least 2 letters), List of References (At least 2 references); digital portfolio or online job application, mock interview, financial literacy workshop or lesson completion, worker safety and rights course or workshop, and portfolio or other documentation of 8 essential work readiness skills.
