• Description: Educates elementary and high-school students to understand the challenges associated with disabilities and to accept and respect all individuals. Provide hands-on activities to address the isolation and bullying of disabled individuals.Each workshop is comprised of two portions:Speaker Portion: The first hour and a half is spent with speakers with disabilities who describe their lives and how they achieve their goals. Students are encouraged to interact with these volunteers.Activity Portion: The second hour-and-a-half is activity-based. Students visit stations where they use a wheelchair and a white cane, write their names in Braille, handle braces and artificial limbs, and experience the sensations of having a learning disability and autism.
