  • Description: Provides financial assistance to aged, blind, or disabled non-citizens who are Legal Permanent Residents (LPR) and are not eligible to SSI/SSP due to immigration status. CAPI is a state program that mirrors the regulations for SSI/SSP. Benefit payments are equal to the SSI/SSP payment standards. CAPI participants may be eligible for Medi-Cal, In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Protective Services, and/or Food Stamp benefits. Individuals requesting such benefits must file the appropriate application for the other program.
