• Description: Fall prevention education classes for seniors. Designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults who are less active. Includes 8 two-hour weekly sessions for a small group. Limited to 14 participants led by a trained facilitator.Participants learn to:View falls as controllableSet goals for increasing activityImprove balance, flexibility & strengthMake changes at home to reduce fall riskThis class is suitable for older adults who:Are concerned about fallsHave fallen or are at risk for fallsWant to increase activity and exerciseCan Walk independently (may use a cane)
