Description: Provides free vision care, such as eye examinations, operations, and medication, to the less fortunate members of the community. Offers comprehensive treatment options for eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.Examinations and operations are performed by Resident Physicians at the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) under the supervision of volunteer board-certified ophthalmologists.LEF does not provide financial aid for eyeglasses or contact lenses.
Eligibility: Must meet the following requirements:- Must be living in a community served by Lions Eye Foundation for a continuous year- Must not have any health insurance (no county, government, or private coverage; no partial coverage, share-of-cost, or deductibles)- Adjusted Gross Income (AGI1) must be within the following guidelines (established January 1, 2024):Family size of 1: $58,320Family size of 2 with two incomes: $78,880Family size of 3: $99,440Family size of 4+: $120,000
Requirements: Verification of income, social security number, and referral form stating the patient's eye condition (referral form must be completed by a doctor).
