  • Description: The SLO County Emergency Medical Services Agency is responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of the local emergency medical services system. Made up of by a variety of partners. 

    The EMS Agency is responsible for setting the training standards, policies, and protocols for the EMTs and Paramedics. Additionally, the EMS Agency is responsible for credentialing all pre-hospital personnel. Plans and prepares for disaster medical response with our Public Health Emergency Preparedness Division.

  • Hours: Office Hours (walk-in hours for certification/accreditation) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9 am - 11 am.Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm.
  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to become an EMT in California. The County's contracted ambulance provider does have an Explorer Post which exposes high-school aged boys & girls to emergency medical services and the associated careers.
