Description: Provides a discount card for reduced fares on fixed-route transit, bus, rail, and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Program is available to persons with qualifying disabilities. Applications are accepted at all San Francisco Bay Area transit systems and then forwarded to a central office.
Please note: Offers services during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and Disasters. Services are available if power is turned off in this facility.
Eligibility: Must be:
Service Disabled U.S. Veteran
a current disabled card holder from another transit agency
have a valid DMV placard
have a Medicare card
To qualify under "Medical Eligibility," you must be certified by one of the State of California licensed professionals described below:
Licensed physicians with an M.D. or D.O. degree, licensed physician's assistants and nurse practitioners may certify in all categories in which they are licensed to diagnose
Licensed chiropractors, categories 1, 2, 3 and 4
Licensed podiatrists, disabilities involving the feet under categories 1, 2, 3 and 4
Licensed optometrists (OPT), category 9
Licensed audiologists (AU), category 10
Licensed clinical psychologists (PSY) and licensed educational psychologists (LEP), categories 15, 16 and 17
Licensed Marriage and Family Counselors (MFT), and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), category 17
Requirements: Basic Eligibility: present one of the following: Medicare card; California DMV placard (or valid registration for placard); other transit agency or visitor card; proof of age 65 or above; or proof of veterans disability.
Medical Eligibility: Completed medical certification from designated licensed professional; qualifying disability.
