  • Description: Provides protection, restoration, and appreciation of the wetlands of the Pajaro Valley, especially involving members of the Watsonville community and the students of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. Provides many learning opportunities for students, teachers and community members out of the Fitz Wetlands Educational Resource Center which is situated on the campus of Pajaro Valley High School in Watsonville, CA, adjacent to 100 acres of fresh-water wetland.

    Advocates for wetland issues, educates in schools and in the public arena, restores degraded habitats, preserves what remains whole, and fosters appreciation of the unique beauty and life of our valley wetlands. Cooperates with numerous other agencies to support studies of and planning for restoration sites.
