  • Description: Investigates reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. Operates a 24/7 hotline to receive reports of alleged child abuse and neglect on children ages 0 to 17. The four categories of child abuse are: physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect. Reports are reviewed and a team determines and investigates the allegations and protects the child if necessary.

    Provides placement for children removed from family situation and placed in foster care. Also supports families in reunification. Finds and recruits relatives, non relative family members, or candidates to become approved Resource Families (foster parents). Other services include:
    • Family Drug Dependency Court (FDDC)
    • Wraparound Services
    • Family Resource Centers
    • Independent Living Program
    • Transitional Housing Program Plus
    • Family Urgent Response System (FURS) serving current and former foster youth and their families.
