Services include: Child and Spousal Support assistance includes: Help fill out forms to start, change, or stop child support, spousal support, or health insurance orders. Provides information and help to figure out how much support should be paid using the law's guidelines.Help with forms to figure out unpaid support for children, spouses, medical bills, childcare, and more.Help with setting up or changing wage assignments so support money comes out of paychecks. Parentage (Who the Child's Legal Parents Are) services include: Explain how to legally name a child's parents and help fill out the right forms, including petitions and judgments. Help find and get copies of Voluntary Declarations of Paternity. The Shasta County Self Help Center also helps with other family law issues, including: Divorce, Legal Separation, or Ending a Marriage - Help with starting the process, filling out forms, and finishing the case. Parentage Cases - Help with forms to ask for custody and support and help complete the final court papers. Court Orders - Help fill out and answer court forms for things such as: Custody and visitation Emergency orders Spousal support Property or debt issues Moving the case to another court Skipping some required steps (like financial info) Restraining Orders - Help ask for or respond to restraining orders for: Domestic violence Civil harassment Elder abuse Workplace violence Help with service papers, court hearings, and delays. Referrals to other community help.Grandparent Visitation - Help with forms if grandparents want to ask for visits with their grandchildren. Guardianship of a Child (When Someone Else Cares for a Child) - Help with forms to ask for legal guardianship of a child. Help with other guardianship issues. Personal Name Change - Help fill out forms to legally change personal name. Emancipation - Help with forms if a minor wants to be legally free from their parents or guardians. Small Claims Help with information and forms for small claims, such as when someone owes money or damaged personal property.
