Description: Works to protect the public's health from vector-borne disease and nuisance. Provides a comprehensive mosquito and vector control program.Offers the following services: Tracks mosquito populations Takes reports of mosquito issues (including neglected pools) and helps to remedy Mosquito control/abatement (such as by providing mosquitofish for ponds free of charge) Performs tick/lyme disease surveillance and rodent disease surveillance Takes reports of dead birds and tracks West Nile Virus, but it is better to contact the California WNV Dead Bird Hotline. Call 877-WNV-BIRD or report online at westnile.ca.gov.For the Burney Basin area call Burney Mosquito Abatement District. For the Fall River Valley area call the Pine Grove Mosquito Abatement District.
