  • Description: Junior Blind's new Children's Residential Program provides children and youth with serious or life-threatening medical conditions and serious mental health challenges who are impacted by the foster care system with a nurturing, highly structured round-the-clock therapeutic setting where they can thrive. Intensive mental health support is provided and helps to address the barriers preventing return home or to less restrictive community environments. Junior Blind of America accepts youth who have varying levels of developmental, medical, physical and behavioral challenges, including, but not limited to: autistic behavior, seizure disorders, severe neurological problems, serious emotional and behavioral disturbances including depression, anxiety, impulsivity and aggression, chronic heart conditions, cerebral palsy, cystic Fibrosis, diabetes, Prader-Willi syndrome, and muscular dystrophy.
