Description: Provides temporary cash aid (called General Relief or GR) to eligibile adult lawful residents who do not have custody of any minor children and do not qualify for Federal or State funded cash aid programs. General Relief is a loan. All funds received need to be repaid. General Relief funds may be used for the burial or cremation of deceased individuals who are of a low-income status and are United States citizens or legally documented non-citizens when other resources are not available. Any available death benefits must be paid to the County to offset any expenses paid by the County.
Eligibility: - Must be a United States citizen or a documented non-citizen, Must live in Orange County, Must meet income and property requirements, Must be willing to be fingerprinted
Requirements: Identification for all adults that apply, Social Security card or other acceptable documentation from the Social Security Office, Proof of income or money received, Proof of any property, Registration with the CalFresh Employment and Training/General Relief Work Program, Proof of legal immigration status, Other necessary documents as needed
