Description: Offers long-term care to California veterans who are aged and/or disabled and to their eligible spouses and domestic partners. Services are provided at eight Veterans Homes throughout the state.Types of care offered: Independent Living Assisted Living Skilled Nursing Care Memory CareCalVet also strives to be the hub of veteran resources to provide referrals and collaboration for veteran healthcare.
Eligibility: California veterans who are aged and/or disabled and, under certain circumstances, their spouses and domestic partners.Eligibility requirements:1. Be 55 years or older, be homeless, or have a disability2. Be a veteran, having served on active duty3. Be a California resident4. Be discharged or released from active duty under conditions other than dishonorable5. Covered under a medical insurance policyThe following veterans are given priority for admission:- Medal of Honor recipients.- Former POW's- Veterans experiencing homelessness- Veterans with 70% or more service-connected disability ratings
Requirements: Proof of military service by submitting one of the following:- A DD214- Equivalent documentation of a DD214 from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).Visit website or call for more information.
