Description: Program offers internet-related and digital resources to those in need. Helps ensure everyone in San Jose may participate in and benefit from the digital economy. Pledges to close the Digital Divide with three key components:
Internet Access Programs - Connect to the internet in your home by checking out a Wi-Fi hotspot. Or access free Wi-Fi at San Jose libraries.
Device Programs - Borrow chromebooks, iPads, and laptops
Digital Literacy - Offers computer classes and tech support
Eligibility: Individuals: Low income, low to moderate digital skills, needs connection to the internet, or in an internet package that costs too much for their budget, or needs a device, as Lifeline phones or tablet devices
Organizations:
1. 501(c)(3)
2. Provide services to San Jose residents in areas such as education, workforce development, homelessness, healthcare, affordable housing, public safety, emergency preparedness, or another social service.
3. Would like to address the digital needs of San Jose residents.
Requirements: Library card for Chromebooks, iPads, or laptops
