FEE ARBITRATION PROGRAM, SONOMA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION

Description: Appoints neutral fee arbitrators, approved by the California State Bar. Handles fee and cost disputes including claims of return of non-earned prepaid fees.

Note: Arbitration can be binding or non-binding. If an individual receives a "Notice of Client's Right to Arbitration" from an attorney claiming fees and wishes to arbitrate, they must file a request for arbitration within 30 days. If a client has a dispute with an attorney's fees, they may request a fee arbitration between the parties.
