HOME IGNITION ZONE (HIZ) ASSESSMENTS, VENTURA REGIONAL FIRE SAFE COUNCIL (VRFSC)

Description: Offers free wildland fire risk assessments for interested homeowners in Thousand Oaks, Greater Conejo Valley area, and Piru. Trained assessor provides a comprehensive evaluation of the exterior of the home and yard. Also offers suggestions for recommended improvements to help resuce the risk of a structure fire.

Note: The service is provided free of charge within the program area until the grant funds are exhausted, and afterward a fee service.

Eligibility: Open to all homeowners residing in the Thousand Oaks, the Greater Conejo Valley area, and Piru. Priority will be given to those homeowners with properties adjacent to open areas.
