  • Description: Provides a foul-weather shelter for individuals suffering from homelessness in Ventura County. Offers shelter for up to 20 vulnerable individuals of the homeless population in a local motel. Individuals 65 years of age and older and/or with chronic health conditions are prioritized. Remaining rooms are on a first-come first-served basis. Provides "stay warm packs" for individuals who are unable to get a room through the program.

    Shelter operates when overnight weather projects over half an inch of rain or temperatures under 40 degrees. Shelter will run tenatively from December 1st, 2023 through March 31st, 2024.

  • Hours: Shelter operates during periods of extreme cold weather or rain. Individuals need to arrive by 5pm on the day the Foul Weather Shelter is activated and will be transported to the motel via bus with a group of others, check out will be by 8am the following morning.
