Description:The SLO City Warming Center will be open Sunday, March 22nd.
Center is open and working with onsite partner, Community Health Centers, to keep volunteers, clients and staff safe. Due to the ever-changing situation please call 40 Prado to get the latest information on restricted access. We are currently only allowing in-county residents in the shelter that have used our services in the past or are current participants. We are currently not accepting new clients. All other programs provided at 40 Prado are currently operating; this includes Recuperative Care, SLO-HUB for co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues, case management, laundry, showers, three meals a day, safe parking, etc. The Center needs volunteers, applications can be submitted online at www.capslo.org/volunteer.
The 40 Prado Homeless Services Center is a 365 days per year facility that helps individuals and families improve their health and stability and move them towards self-sufficiency. Services available to all participants include:
overnight shelter (up to 100 beds)
meals
showers
laundry
mail/phone services
access to case management
primary medical care
animal kennels
Specialized services include the SLO-Hub Project for individuals seeking assistance in dealing with mental health and substance use issues.
CHC is providing acute services for people in the Prado Center.
Additionally, 40 Prado serves as the Warming Center location for the City of San Luis Obispo during times of inclement weather.
Client check-in for SLO City Warming Center begins at 4:30 pm at 40 Prado Road. Pets ARE welcome.
Those needing shelter may arrive at any time during the evening; however, if someone leaves, they may not return that night. While the Warming Center closes at 8 am, clients may access regular Day Center services beginning at 8:00 am.
Hours: A 24 HOUR CENTER with:4:00 pm check-in The Warming Center Client check-in begins at 4:30pm Clients in service who have checked in can come for breakfast and dinner.
